At the moment I like…abandoned buildings

Well, strictly speaking, that’s not true. I’ve actually liked abandoned buildings for quite a long time, but it’s very rare that I get to visit one. Being a skinny young girl I’m too scared to go into them on my own for fear of the inhabitants, so I normally have to feed my abandoned building craving by visiting urban explorer websites, my favourite being Another State of Mind Urban Exploration (ASOMUE). However a few weeks ago when visiting family I had the opportunity to look around an abandoned train station on the sea front. I’ve been there several times before but have always either been turned away by the guard or been unable to get through the fences. This time though, the guard was distracted and the whole station was opened up, so I had a little poke around and took some photos. Here are some of my collection which I also tried editing on paint.net. I’m not good at taking photos or editing, so it was just a bit of fun really 🙂

I know what you mean about the exploring. I’m a petite young woman who’s scared to approach these places on her own (for obvious risk factors such as: groups of youths, lechy guards, vagrants, druggies, getting trapped and nobody knowing about it, etc).
Do what I did and contact one of these photographers on the exploration forums, or art communities such as RedBubble. Aside from a lot of the ‘elite’ behaviour that goes on with the old-schoolers (you’ll quickly suss those ones out), the majority of explorers are a friendly bunch who will happily show you around somewhere. 🙂
